I am happy to be participating in Sew Mama Sew's giveaway day for the second time.  I really enjoyed having you all visit and sending the lucky winner some of my fabric stash, so I am doing it again.

As this blog is about clearing out my craft closet, I am happy to send along a package with fabrics from my stash to a good home. I bought all of these fabrics with no project in particular so they've never come to anything.  I think I was thinking of making a quilt with some and an apron with the red.  I liked the fabric and it was a good deal so I bought it.  I just haven't made the projects.  Too many projects, so little time.  :)  It's been difficult to get projects done around here with the two kids.  I still try to craft when I can.  It brings me so much satisfaction.

My giveaway prize features half yard pieces from my fabric stash.  To the winner, I hope you can find some good use out of these fabrics.  I would love to see what you end up making.  Send me a photo if you remember.  I am tempted to have two winners.  If I have time, I will definitely send out a second prize.  Thanks.  Samantha

Do you ever buy fabric without any specific intention or do you always have a project in mind when you buy fabric?

    I often buy fabric just because I like it, and then come up with a project later. I love being able to shop my stash when I want to start a project!

    I try to buy fabric only if I know how to use it... but sometimes if it's too cute I may just buy it first and figure out what to do with it next! :) thanks for the fun giveaway!!

    I don't buy fabric (just use scraps and given fabric) but if I did, i would buy what was pretty, and then decide what to use it with. sarah@forrussia.org

    I always buy fabric that I love when I see it. I have a super stash. It helps that I pick up a lot of fabrics/notions at garage/estate sales. The fabrics tell me what to make with them. Thanks for the giveaway.

    I always have a purpose. However I am frequently given fabric (others cleaning out their closets!), so sometimes I get to discover a use!

    I used to buy fabric just for the heck of it, I liked the pattern or color or texture! But after filling up a couple of cabinets and a closet, I had to stop!! Now it's ONLY in an emergency that I buy fabric because I should be able to find something in my stash, theoretically.

    Such pretty pieces. I sew dresses for little girls in need around the world -- these would make up lovely. I only buy fabric for specific projects.

    I rarely have a project in mind when I'm buying fabric...that's baaaaad , isn't it? Then, when I want to sew up a project, I look through my stash and find something suitable. I love to shop for fabric and buy what's on sale and what I love!

    Most of my fabric is stuff I pick up here and there, figuring I'll find a use for it later. I need to find about 20 scrappy quilt tops to make and use it all up, ha ha.

    I tend to find my fabrics at thrift stores. If I can find one piece I like after 20 minutes of digging through mostly ugly bits no one else could find a use for, I certainly don't need to have a project in mind to justify it's purchase. :)

    I would add them to my stash for quilts I like to donate. I hardly ever buy fabric with a specific project in mind-I buy what I like and decide later, LOL

    When there are really great sales, I might by a half yard of a fabric that I really love, but it sometimes takes me a long while before I use it if I don't have a specific project in mind.

    When I was young I could only afford to buy what I needed for a project. Now, I buy what catches my eye. My stash is getting bigger but I find I still need to go out and get what I need for a project because I can't cut into my stash!

    I very rarely buy fabric WITH a specific project in mind! I make lots of small, scrappy things though so FQs are my ideal size. Therefore it's not much of a gamble to outlay $3 on something I might not use for a year.
