Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day/Week May 2015!
This giveaway is closed. Lee won my fabric giveaway. Thanks for all that entered. Comments with email addresses have been deleted to protect your information. See you next time.
I am happy to be participating in Sew Mama Sew's giveaway day for the second time. I really enjoyed having you all visit and sending the lucky winner some of my fabric stash, so I am doing it again.
As this blog is about clearing out my craft closet, I am happy to send along a package with fabrics from my stash to a good home. I bought all of these fabrics with no project in particular so they've never come to anything. I think I was thinking of making a quilt with some and an apron with the red. I liked the fabric and it was a good deal so I bought it. I just haven't made the projects. Too many projects, so little time. :) It's been difficult to get projects done around here with the two kids. I still try to craft when I can. It brings me so much satisfaction.
My giveaway prize features half yard pieces from my fabric stash. To the winner, I hope you can find some good use out of these fabrics. I would love to see what you end up making. Send me a photo if you remember. I am tempted to have two winners. If I have time, I will definitely send out a second prize. Thanks. Samantha
To win, please leave a comment below with your email so I can contact you from May 6th to May 10th at 5pm PST for a chance to win. You can write your email at ____ dot com so your email won't be picked up by spammers. Thanks. Winner will be picked by May 12th and notified by May 13th. Sorry no international shipping.
Good luck!
A question for you:
Do you ever buy fabric without any specific intention or do you always have a project in mind when you buy fabric?
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for helping me clear out my craft closet. :)

I almost never have a specific intention except I like it.
ReplyDeleteI often buy fabric bundles just because I like the fabric.

I often buy fabric just because I like it, and then come up with a project later. I love being able to shop my stash when I want to start a project!
ReplyDeleteBuy what I like. 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteYes, I am guilty of buying fabric without a plan for it! But it's sooo pretty!!
ReplyDeletei am in love with fabric, thanks ... bewtjwatoutlookdotcom
ReplyDeleteMost of the time I buy it because I like it!
ReplyDeleteYup, guilty too. If I love it, I try to buy at least a yard!
ReplyDeleteI try to buy fabric only if I know how to use it... but sometimes if it's too cute I may just buy it first and figure out what to do with it next! :) thanks for the fun giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI almost always buy fabric with a project in mind, but every once in a while I will see something I can't resist.

I often buy fabric with nothing in mind, especially if it's on sale.

I don't buy fabric (just use scraps and given fabric) but if I did, i would buy what was pretty, and then decide what to use it with. sarah@forrussia.org
ReplyDeleteI typically have a project in mind when I buy fabric, but then I often throw the plan out the window and make something else!
ReplyDeleteunfortunately, all the time. I figure one day I'll use it for something!
ReplyDeleteI always buy fabric that I love when I see it. I have a super stash. It helps that I pick up a lot of fabrics/notions at garage/estate sales. The fabrics tell me what to make with them. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI usually have some sort of (sometimes vague!) idea in mind when I buy fabric. But I don't always follow through! :)
ReplyDeleteMost of my fabric is purchased just because I loved the print. I really have to stop doing that.
ReplyDeleteI buy not knowing what I'm going to do with it all the time. I really need to stop doing that!
ReplyDeleteI often buy fabric without a specific project. It usually has butterflies

I usually buy without a project in mind. Works out OK. I use it for something or give it away.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time I buy with a project in mind! thank you!
ReplyDeleteI usually buy with a project in mind. Whether I actually MAKE that project is another story! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI usually buy fabric with a specific project in mind. Although, right now I am collecting Asian fabrics without actually having a pattern.
ReplyDeleteI usually buy with a purpose, but if I happen to find some on a good deal (or to get free shipping) or it is too pretty to resist I will get it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your giveaway. I usually buy fabric because I like the way it looks or because there is a good deal on it. I can always find a use for it.
ReplyDeleteI always have a purpose. However I am frequently given fabric (others cleaning out their closets!), so sometimes I get to discover a use!
ReplyDeleteI used to buy fabric just for the heck of it, I liked the pattern or color or texture! But after filling up a couple of cabinets and a closet, I had to stop!! Now it's ONLY in an emergency that I buy fabric because I should be able to find something in my stash, theoretically.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty pieces. I sew dresses for little girls in need around the world -- these would make up lovely. I only buy fabric for specific projects.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win! I almost always have a project in mind when I purchase fabric. That doesn't mean that every now and then some great piece jumps into my buggy and demands to come home with me. :)
ReplyDeleteI rarely have a project in mind when I'm buying fabric...that's baaaaad , isn't it? Then, when I want to sew up a project, I look through my stash and find something suitable. I love to shop for fabric and buy what's on sale and what I love!
ReplyDeleteWell yes,yes I do, You just can't pass up the fabric that's sitting there screaming your name!
ReplyDeleteMost of my fabric is stuff I pick up here and there, figuring I'll find a use for it later. I need to find about 20 scrappy quilt tops to make and use it all up, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I tend to find my fabrics at thrift stores. If I can find one piece I like after 20 minutes of digging through mostly ugly bits no one else could find a use for, I certainly don't need to have a project in mind to justify it's purchase. :)
ReplyDeleteI would add them to my stash for quilts I like to donate. I hardly ever buy fabric with a specific project in mind-I buy what I like and decide later, LOL
ReplyDeleteI usually have an idea in mind when I buy fabric but sometimes I fall in love with a fabric and just have to have it!
ReplyDeleteWhen there are really great sales, I might by a half yard of a fabric that I really love, but it sometimes takes me a long while before I use it if I don't have a specific project in mind.
ReplyDeleteI never buy fabric with a project in mind I just buy fabric I like and watch it pile up!
ReplyDeleteI rarely buy stuff specifically for a project. is usually because I love it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was young I could only afford to buy what I needed for a project. Now, I buy what catches my eye. My stash is getting bigger but I find I still need to go out and get what I need for a project because I can't cut into my stash!
ReplyDeleteI buy what I like when I see it at a good price... same with yarn! rjgosnell at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI very rarely buy fabric WITH a specific project in mind! I make lots of small, scrappy things though so FQs are my ideal size. Therefore it's not much of a gamble to outlay $3 on something I might not use for a year.
ReplyDeleteIf I see something at a very reasonable price I will buy it. I sometimes find some very cute fabric at my local thrift store.
ReplyDeletei buy charm packs just because and yards cuts from favorite designers too!
ReplyDeleteI buy fabric first and then find a use for it. Or not!
ReplyDeleteI am guilty of buying fabric without a plan but even if I have a plan, I usually change it.
ReplyDeleteSometimes there is a fabric that I just have to have. Don't have a plan for it either. I know how that goes.
