 It's hard to believe that I started this blog 2 years ago to make closet space for my little one who is now two and a half and I have another little one that is 6 months old!  On the 2 year anniversary of this blog, I am very excited to join in this year's Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day. 

As this blog is about clearing out my craft closet, I am happy to send along a package with fabrics from my stash to a good home. I bought all of these fabrics with no project in particular so they've never come to anything.  I think I was thinking of making a quilt with some and an apron with the red.  I liked the fabric and it was a good deal so I bought it.  I just haven't made the projects.  Too many projects, so little time.  :)  It's been difficult to get projects done around here with the two kids.  I still try to craft when I can.  It brings me so much satisfaction. 

My giveaway prize features about 1/2 yard pieces of fabric from my stash.  To the winner, I hope you can find some good use out of these fabrics.  I would love to see what you end up making.  Send me a photo if you remember.  Thanks.  Samantha

A question for you:
Do you ever buy fabric without any specific intention or do you always have a project in mind when you buy fabric?

    I buy a lot of fabric without a project in mind. I'm trying to change that, and only buying for specific projects, but it's challenging. I have 3 kids and my youngest just turned 2 so I really relate to your so many projects so little time comment.

    Lol I always buy fabric just because I like it and when it comes time to make something I never have the coordinating fabric to go with it.

    I often just buy fabric -- if I have a general idea of what I want to use it for I make a guess as to how much I need!

    I used to be really good at only buying fabric for a purpose, but lately have not been doing so well. Black Friday really beat me up. ;)

    I often buy fabric without any specific project in mind. I make a lot of scrappy quilts (although they're not strictly from "scraps"!) so it works for me.

    I usually have a project in mind when buying a fabric but there are times when a sale or particular print is irresistible even when I don't have plans for it.

    I usually buy fabric that catches my eye, then when I want to make something with it I have to go buy more to match up.

    I generally buy fabric with a certain purpose in mind, but that being said, if it is a super deal and I think it is pretty fabric I will buy it just because. grecomara at gmail dot com

    I buy fabric when I love it, and the price is right. If I don't have an idea in mind, I buy 2 yards - it's enough to do most basic projects with !

    I'm new to sewing, so I've not bought a bunch of fabric yet, but I've seen so much that I LOVE that I have no idea what I would do with it, and yet I'd love to receive it.
    I think that red bandanna fabric would be a great fabric to pair with denim for an apron, or quilt, or pillow, or fabric baskets...

    I do both. Sometimes I grab fabric just because it strikes my fancy and I know I'll be kicking myself over it later and sometimes I buy specifically for a project.

    I buy fabric to "build my stash" but honestly, whenever I make a project I usually end up buying specifically for it. Building my stash is just an excuse to decorate my craft room which is just and excuse to hoard.

    I buy fabric with specific projects in mind, but they sometimes end up in my stash. I used to buy online, but those often ended up in my stash when they arrived and turned out to be a different color than the picture.

    I used to buy fabric without a project in mind, but now I have several shelves of fabric to pull from, so I restrain my myself and only buy what I need for a specific project. I'm at an age when I need to start thinking about what kind of mess my children will have to deal with when I'm gone. :)

    I very seldom buy fabric with a particular project in mind! I know where the "holes" in my stash are, and I frequently purchase fabric on sale that is not like what I have at home. Happy holidays!

    I try not to buy more than a half yard of any fabric without a plan for it, but I love scraps and I will always end up trying to make room for more if I come across them.

    I buy fabric because it attracts me with its pattern or color. Then, I shop my stash when I decide to make a quilt. About the only fabric I buy for a specific project is backing. I buy mostly fat quarters or half yards.

    I'm about 50/50. Some I have projects in mind, but sometimes the fabric inspires me towards a certain project after purchase :)

    I try to only buy fabric when I have a project in mind, but the more I quilt the more I buy fabric just because.....it's pretty, it's calling my name, peer pressure, it's fabric therapy, it needs a forever home......I can't help it anymore! :)
