Applique bag

Another birthday this time it's a friend at work.  We like to dream about becoming sewing masters.  Alas, we are not, but maybe we will be in the future.

Anyways, I had a premade canvas tote bag that has been hanging around asking me to do something with it and so I wanted to personalize it for my friend.  I have never done applique work but I thought I might try this time for her birthday.

I drew an "R" on the fabric from my stash with a disappearing ink pen and then cut it out.  I really didn't do the applique-ing the right way so I'll just show you some photos.  It turned out pretty good, but I would try to do it a little differently next time.  Maybe I'll even do it the proper way.  :)
